U.S. House Pages
This notice is directed to those of you who know someone who is a High School Junior and has at least a 3.0 GPA who might be interested in serving in the Obama Administration as a Page.
To Counselors and Educators: Please share this information with friends, family and potential U S House of Representatives Page candidates. The honor of serving as a page during the Obama administration will be an invaluable experience. GENERAL GUIDELINES : During the academic year, Pages are required to attend the Page School in addition to their responsibilities as support staff to the Members of the House of Representatives. Pages live in the Page Residence Hall and receive a monthly salary.
The following guidelines apply to all Pages: Pages are required to maintain a neat appearance and a hairstyle that is appropriate for a business environment. Pages must also wear ID badges and uniforms a t work and school. House Pages follow the House Calendar, which is subject to change.
Plans and airline tickets may have to be changed or canceled if the House calendar dictates it.
Never purchase non refundable tickets based on the tentative calendar in the Page Handbook.
Pages are permitted to return home only on weekends when there are no Washington Seminars, except in cases of a family emergency. Pages will be unable to leave the Page Program to attend family, home school, or community activities or functions if they occur during the school or work week.
Pages earn $20,181.00 annually, with a monthly gross salary of $1,681.75. Automatic deductions are made for federal and state taxes, social security, and the Residence Hall fee. Pages are paid on the last working day of the month.

Year Up is an intensive one-year training program for young adults ages 18 to 24 who provide Fortune 100 companies like Merrill Lynch, American Express, Lehman Brothers and Bank of America with Information Technology entry level talent. We recognize that both job skills and higher education are necessary to provide a visible path to economic self-sufficiency. Throughout the course of one year, our students earn up to 16 college credits from Pace University; learn technical and professional skills and are placed in paid internships. Students are paid an educational stipend of $150 per week while in training and $250 per week while working at their internship. Year Up is currently recruiting students for our next class of young professionals. We are looking for High School graduates or GED recipients, ages 18-24, who may not know what to do next - attend college or work full-time.

Merit-Based Scholarships: This scholarship program has been created to recognize top achievers who will be joining the MA Class of 2010. Scholarships are awarded to applicants based on the strength of their application in all areas including: academic record, GMAT/GRE score, leadership/extracurricular activities, interview, recommendations, and essays. Scholarships awards vary. MA Corporate Fellowships: This fellowship program has been created to promote the Babcock School's commitment to building a student body that mirrors the diversity found in the market place. MA fellowships are funded by local corporate sponsors. In exchange, the MA fellow will complete a Fellowship Practicum and meet with a corporate mentor. Corporate fellowships will be awarded to diverse students with excellent academic records, leadership potential, and who are members of constituencies that are traditionally under-represented at Wake Forest.
