Metropolitan AME Church has been selected as one of the finalist in the grant competition for $100,000 sponsored by the Historical Preservation Historical Trust.  The final phase of the grant process requires that we get votes from our supporters via social media platforms.  Voting started this morning at 6 a.m.. We have some very tough competition but we are in it to win it.  Presently, Metropolitan is ranked 19th of the 24 sites in numbers of points received.  Please help us improve our ranking.

We are asking you to register and vote for Metropolitan every day.  Please help your family, friends and associates to register and remind them to vote every day until May 10.

We are up against some very stiff competition, and we are already way behind in the voting. Use this link to register and vote.

Greetings,

I don't know if you are aware... Home Depot has a campaign to help some of our HBCU's including our AME Colleges.  Voting is in process and you can vote once a day.  I just voted for Wilberforce and they only have 80,000 votes.  I plan to vote for the others in the coming days.  I also saw Paul Quin and Edward Waters on the list.  We need to get the word out to our Laity.  It doesn't cost a thing to vote!!! This is the link.

RE:                 Electronic Registration Process

Greetings and Praise God from whom all blessings flow.

Attached is the Electronic Registration document for this 33rd Biennial Session of the Connectional Lay Organization.  We pray that we are all prepared to work diligently toward having a successful meeting in Atlanta, GA.  Please enter your data using a Windows 98 or later Excel spreadsheet.   Each delegate should be entered with a Registration Code.  Please pay particular attention to the code and enter the correct code for each delegate type.  The information should be listed with the Episcopal District Delegation first, followed with Conference Delegations, Presiding Elder Districts (where applicable), and then Local Churches.  It is most important that we have these designations correct.  Remember, there is only one delegate per local church; however, we want the church to register as many lay and clergy persons as they can encourage to attend.   Don’t forget to register your Presiding Bishop and Episcopal Supervisor, along with any Connectional Officers in your Episcopal District.

ALL Registration fees include a 1 year subscription to We Speak. We would like to have your first Pre-registration report by the March 31, 2013 deadline, but no later than April 15th in order to have a preliminary report ready for you by the Spring Board meeting. Late registration ($300.00) begins April 1, 2013.  All pre-registration reports are to be e-mailed to Mrs. Faye E. Walker at CLORegStaff11@gmail.com as soon as you complete it. All pre-registration monies should be received by the April, 2013, Executive Board Meeting.  After May 30th and all Onsite Registrations will be $350.00.  Please DO NOT MAIL any registrations after June 30, 2013.  All others will be processed on site.

Upon completion of your data entry, print/save a copy for your records.   Send along with the appropriate cashier’s check to cover the total delegates, observers, clergy, and all other registrants listed on your registration report to Mr. Richard Bowden, 1908 Vaughn Lane, Montgomery AL 36106 (334/467-7358).  The Fee is $250.00 per person for early registration,   $300.00 if received by May 30th and $350 thereafter and On-Site registration.  Email a copy of the electronic document to CLORegStaff11@gmail.com  as indicated above.

Observers may register for $150.00.  This type registration will receive the Observer Bag, Badge, We Speak and Agenda only.

You will note that the registration form does not contain the list of Committees for this Biennial session, the Committee process instructions will be handled separately from registration.

We believe that this procedure will greatly enhance our registration process.  On-site changes will be made as in the past by the District President or a person designated by the District

President.  Changes in the interim of the Biennial can be made on a separate registration form and submitted through the District President/Designee to Darwin Eldridge with the appropriate fees and a copy to the Registration Staff at CLORegStaff11@gmail.com.  We will add them to our computerized composite registration to generate nametags for distribution with the kits.

On-line hotel reservations instructions will be available to each District President/Representative  as soon as they are completed and approved. Preliminary copies of each District’s pre-registration will be available at the April Executive Board meeting if we have received your information.

If you have any questions about the registration procedures, please email the Registration Staff at CLORegStaff11@gmail.com or call/leave a message to Faye Walker at (615) 429-6241, Darwin Eldridge at (931) 648-4720 or Billie Irving at (615) 254-0911.

Be Blessed
